Carol Kyomukama Murekezi is a wife and proud mother of three. Carol has served as an SPS systems Advisor with the Land O Lakes Venture 37 for the past five years. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Makerere University, Uganda, and a Master of Science from the University of Reading, UK. Her academic affiliations include the University of California, Davis, and Minnesota University under the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship and the Cochran Fellowship Program, respectively. Given that over 60% of livelihoods in Developing Countries depend on Agriculture, Carol believes in creating access to markets for trade that improve household income.
For over 30 years, she has worked to implement SPS measures in Uganda and Rwanda, where she has been involved in SPS (Animal / Plant Health and Food Safety) capacity building, development, and implementation of policies and legal instruments to facilitate the implementation of the same.
She enjoys working with people in both the public and private sectors and has been involved in numerous projects to promote the proper implementation of SPS measures in various systems such as seed certification, phytosanitary inspections, food safety inspections, and the regulation of agrochemicals. In her spare time, Carol enjoys reading and appreciating nature.
