Dr. Angeline Mumararungu is a physician who holds a Master of Science in Global Health Delivery from the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE), Rwanda. Angeline has served as the Director of Planning and Health Financing at the Ministry of Health Rwanda, since 2020. She is pursuing her doctoral studies in Leadership, Management, and Policy at Boston University’s School of Public Health.
From 2019 - 2020 she worked as a Director General of Rutongo District Hospital in the northern part of Rwanda. She has vast experience in clinical practice obtained from district and referral hospitals and community health services obtained from Gardens for Health International (GHI) where she served as Health Program Manager from 2014 - 2019.
Angeline is a global health practitioner with over 10 years of public health experience in health system strengthening interventions ranging from Community-based programs, hospital management, health policies, and health financing designs and implementation. Angeline’s interests are health services financing, equity in health care, health systems, health policies, program impact evaluation, cost-effective analysis, provider payment mechanisms, health priority setting, benefits package designs, and institutional capacity building. Her ambition is to be an evidence-based global health leader with a focus on improving patient health outcomes, particularly for maternal and child health and to be an independent researcher.
